Frequently Asked Questions
What are your hours?
Monday-Friday 9am to 6pm. Evenings and Saturdays by special request, additional charges may apply.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash and all major debit/credit cards. First time clients will be sent an invoice for one hour of service at the disclosed rate. A good faith deposit is required to reserve your spot and will be credited to your first visit. Deposits are non-refundable.
How does organizing work?
I begin by removing and categorizing everything so we can take inventory of what you own. This facilitates easier decision-making while decluttering. Next, I assess your space and the remaining items. If any organizing items or bins are needed, I will make recommendations based on your goals and budget. I will always try to utilize storage bins that you already own. Once I have organized the space, we will do a walk through to make sure you are satisfied. If any adjustments are required, I will be glad to rearrange items to suit your needs.
I will drop off one car load of donations per visit to Caring Hands Thrift Store in Altoona at no additional charge. If you would like to donate your items elsewhere, I will load them into your personal vehicle.
What if I don’t want to get rid of something?
You don’t have to get rid of anything you don’t want to get rid of. I will respect your items as if they were my own, but I will make suggestions based on our initial discussion. You will be in charge of all final decisions. If I do any sorting when you are not present, I will separate donations for you to look through first. You are welcome to look through boxes and bags before they are loaded up for donation.
Why should I utilize in-home laundry rather than a pick up service?
1) You determine which products/detergents are supplied for me to use.
2) Same day turn around. No more searching for items that are at the cleaners.
3) No risk of your items going missing or getting mixed up with other customers.
4) I will put your items away for you! No pick up service will do that. Whether you want items folded into drawers or hung in a closet, I will put them away based on your preference.
What is included in the laundry plus light cleaning?
Main focus will be on laundry, and in between loads I can tackle chores around the house. This is not meant to be a deep clean or to replace your regular housekeeper. Typical chores include making beds, dusting, vacuuming, doing dishes, etc. Bathroom cleaning is not included in this service. I will provide glass cleaner, all-purpose cleaner, dusters, and rags. You are responsible for providing laundry supplies and a vacuum.
What else can you help with?
Moving preparation (decluttering, packing, unpacking), downsizing, combining households, garage sales, staging, minimalism, seasonal clothes, creating a storage system for holiday items, sorting clothes before back to school shopping, small space living, document sorting, and filing systems.
Who do you work with?
I have a soft spot for senior citizens, but I enjoy working with all kinds of people! I have worked with busy professionals, families, people with chronic illnesses, neurodivergent individuals, single parents, and people recovering from a recent surgery. Most people can benefit from household help every once in awhile. If you are overwhelmed and don’t know where to start, it would be my pleasure to work with you on an ongoing basis or just when life gets hectic.
